“The Philadelphia Story” screens under the stars this Friday night at Veris Cellars, 1266 N. Bethel Road in Templeton.

The free screening, which starts at 8 p.m., comes complete with candy, popcorn and, of course, locally crafted wine (for a small fee). Call 434-0319 for more information.

A younger Kate Hepburn finds herself at the center of a comical love triangle in “The Philadelphia Story.”

Wealthy Philadelphia socialite Tracy Lord (Hepburn) married charming, handsome C.K. Dexter Haven (Cary Grant) in a moment of passion, then divorced him when his drinking got out of control. Now she’s got a new beau — aspiring politician George Kittredge (John Howard).

Who should show up at their wedding other than Dexter, accompanied by two tabloid journalists in disguise?

Tracy must chose between her ex-husband, her husband-to-be and an enterprising reporter (Jimmy Stewart) who has his own designs on the lovely lady.
