BzzAgent: Covergirl Blast Flipsticks Review

I am nowhere near as beautiful as Sofia Vergara, that's a fact.  But what's true is that I really love getting FREE stuff!  I am so happy to have the opportunity to review the newest line of Covergirl lipsticks called "Blast Flipsticks".  Each Flipstick comes with two different colors.  One is a lighter, more shimmery color that can be used during the day and the other is a dark, bold color that you can wear at night.  The texture of the lipstick itself is really creamy and the color actually stays on for quite a good amount of time.  What makes this lipstick somewhat unique is that you can mix both colors to produce a new color effect, which I appreciate.  It's like getting two lipsticks for the price of one!  For those who know me, I'm all about a bargain.  :)

But you know what?  I wasn't a huge fan of the two colors BzzAgent sent as samples.  The colors minx and vixen were definitely not made for my skin color.  I personally would never choose these colors for myself but appreciate the free products very much. I liked the texture though and the fact that the color didn't stain my teeth and that the color remained on my lips for hours even between meals.  So I will use my coupons to try some different colors and hopefully I will find one I will like!

One2OneNetwork: Kylie Minogue's THE ABBEY ROAD SESSIONS Album Review

My thoughts on the album is that it's not as bad as I expected it to be, nor is it as good as I wanted it to be.  I am not that huge of a fan of her voice.  I really thought Kylie Minogue was a one-hit wonder back in the day (1987) with "The Locomotion".  Then she came out with the song "I Should Be So Lucky" in 1988 and I thought that OK, maybe she does have potential.  She topped the charts for a long time with that one, I think.  I didn't hear much about her again until 2001 with her son "Can't Get You Out Of My Head".  Quite honestly, as much of a hit as that song was, I thought it was just plain annoying.  But then again, any song can get annoying after being played for the hundredth time in a given day.  So in all fairness, when I signed up to do a review of this album, I am coming from an already pretty biased background of not being a huge fan of Kylie Minogue.  I realize that there's something about her voice that I just don't like.  I think she's a talented woman and is considerably beautiful, I am just drawn by certain voices and styles of music. 

However, if I am to focus on the songs, I do like "I Believe In You", "Confide In Me", "Where The Wild Roses Grow, "Slow", and "Never Too Late".  "Flower" is probably the best song out of the whole album.  I have never heard these songs before so I am trying to give my honest review based on listening to them just twice.  I must confess this album didn't turn me into a new Kylie Minogue fan.  It's definitely meant for a certain audience and unfortunately I'm not one of them.  I am sure there is a huge fan base out there that will appreciate this album a lot more than I did.  :)

One2OneNetwork: Chris Mann's ROADS Album Review

Over a year ago, Chris Mann was featured on one of the other campaigns I participated in (I forget which website it was?) as a new upcoming artist.  A few months later, he actually became the fourth place finalist from the second season of “The Voice”. He was able to work with Christina Aguilera as his mentor. I was in awe of not only of his talents (he is an awesome singer!) but also of his good looks.  He is a hottie!  

I was really excited about getting picked to review his new album "ROADS" (released Oct. 30, 2012) for One2OneNetwork!  His voice reminds me of a crossover between Josh Groban, Michael Buble and Elliott Yamin.  He just has a really sensual side to him with a little R&B and opera mixed in with his contemporary style of music.  He can reach really high notes (think in the styles of Christina Aguilera & Celine Dion) which is impressive.  He sings with such romanticism and passion, makes you melt like butter.  This album would be perfect to play during a dinner party or a romantic night with your lover...or while you're relaxing in the hot tub with some candles lit up. 

The first song Roads in the album is probably my favorite. The words have so much meaning for me personally.  His renditions of songs like "I Need You Now" (by Lady Antebellum), "On A Night Like This" (by Dave Barnes) and "Ave Maria" (a classic!) were very well done.  Not to say the other songs weren't well done at all, but those were some of my other favorites.  He sang Coldplay's song "Viva La Vida" and I just didn't think it suited him.  Although I like the song itself, I just didn't think it was his kind of style.  But good for him for trying.  Overall, I think he has a heavenly voice and is great eye candy.  His album wasn't mind-blowing by any means but I thought it was a good debut.   ;)

Product Review: Filippo Berio® Olive Oil

Received such a small bottle of Filippo Berio® Olive Oil to sample for this product review. I thought at first that I would run out within a matter of days but surprisingly enough, it has lasted me a whole month! I used it in many of the dishes I cooked, mostly dishes for dinner. I made a lot of pesto sauce with it too which was great since the olive oil really helped bring out the flavors for the sauce, considering it only has 4 ingredients. Lol. Filippo Berio® Olive Oil is a great product. It isn't so overpowering like some of the olive oils out there. Also, it's even better that so little goes a long way. :) *I am a BzzAgent. Product Review: Mat Kearney's 3rd Album "Young Album"

Mat Kearney's "Young Album" was literally music to my ears. I have been waiting to discover really good music. Lately, I have been hooked on Adele, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz and Lady Antebellum. But I was looking for something a little bit more upbeat but still mellow. Mat Kearney was the answer to that! His voice reminds me of Counting Crows' lead singer Adam Duritz voice. It's very calming and is very soulful. Every time I hear "Hey Mama", I just want to dance in my seat (I'm usually in the car when I listen to music). Since I'm a Mom, I just feel like it's the perfect song to get me going at the beginning of the day. I am in love with his voice! I love the following songs: Sooner or Later, Down, She's Got the Honey and Rochester...all such different songs from each other but they all suck me in (in a good way) entirely.

It's really easy to listen to the whole album from beginning to end. I like the fact that I can play the whole album while the kids are in the car too, it's hard to find pop music that I are "safe" for the kids to listen to these days. I like Bruno Mars and Travie McCoy too but the words are just not all that suitable for the kiddos. Mat Kearney is a wonderful artist and I hope he makes another album!

Product Review: Canopy Anywhere Console Table, Mahogany Finish

I looked for over a year trying to find an affordable buffet to store my extra kitchen items and more expensive dishes. I had the toughest time finding anything selling for less than $600! I traveled near and far to try to find this piece of furniture but to no avail. Then one day, it occured to me to look on Walmart.com and here I found the best bargain of all! A "buffet" for less than $300, shipped to the store for FREE. Gotta love Walmart for that.

It took a lot longer than expected to put the whole thing together. The instructions are very easy to follow except for the fact that the way it tells you to put it together is NOT the best way to put it together. It says to attach the two main side pieces to the front and back pieces then place the middle pieces into the buffet (the pieces that would hold the drawers in the middle). Well much to my dismay, the pieces didn't go in perfectly, they would attach to the front piece but not to the back. I almost broke the whole thing due to my frustration.

I looked online and found a different instruction manual. If you are thinking of purchasing this item, follow these instructions instead! Trust me, it will make your life a whole lot easier.

Anyway, I waited a whole hour before I went back to putting it back together again. To my amazement, I was able to FINALLY put the console together. Wow, it just looks absolutely beautiful. Just like those $800 pieces I was looking at that! It has a lot of storage and it looks great in my living room! :)

I gave the Canopy Anywhere Console 5 stars out of 5!

Product Review: Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Powder Chocolate, 2 lbs

As of May 1st, I have been working hard to lose some weight. I was hoping to add some protein shakes to my daily routine to help build some muscle and help me get toned. I purchased the Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Powder Chocolate online from Walmart.com for $14.98 plus tax with free shipping. As always, I used Shopathome.com to get 2% cash back.

I have never been a huge fan of protein shakes. I always thought that you can still taste the powdery texture and the flavors were never that good. But I have to admit that this one is a lot better than any of the other ones I've tasted. I like the chocolate flavor and the texture isn't gritty like most other protein powders. I have made different kinds of protein shakes with this (1 scoop of powder with frozen or fresh fruit and soy milk w/ ice and/or greek yogurt). I have found that this tasted best with frozen blueberries, soy milk and a banana!

I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

Product Review: Old Navy's Compression Active Pants

I signed up for a new campaign through Crowdtap in which I get to sample a free pair of active pants from Old Navy!  I was so excited to be able to try a pair of pants for free.  Plus it came at a perfect time as I was shopping for new workout pants to wear for running.  I just started running again (started May 1st) and I have discovered that a lot of the pants I have been using for running isn't really meant for running.  It fits right for regular workouts but as soon as I start running, the waist part starts inching down so the next thing I know I am spending most of my time trying to jimmy my pants back up while running.

The Old Navy compression pants I chose isn't necessarily the 'perfect' pair for running either, but it's a lot better than some of the brands I've tried.  It stays up for the most part but after half an hour or so, I have to start messing with my pants to get them to stay up again.  But luckily, I don't run very far (only about 3-4 miles a day) so it usually happens towards the end of my run which I don't mind so much since it's time to stop anyway.

I really do like how it feels on my body.  The material is really nice and feels tight and taut around my bosom, which I appreciate since it actually makes it look like I've got a nice booty. :)  It also doesn't cause too many bulges around the waist area which I like since some pants make it look like I have a muffin top when it squeezes too much on my waist.
I have washed it twice since I purchased it last Thursday (May 26th) and they look as good as new.  I am hoping they hold up well through its lifetime!  I think that it's a pretty good bargain at less than $30 for the pair.  Some compression pants that are comparable are going for $80 or more (like Athleta's, which I could never buy since I just can't get myself to spend that much on activewear!). 

I give the compression pants from Old Navy 4 stars out of 5!

Product Review: "...Featuring Norah Jones"

I really liked the new Norah Jones compilation CD, some very interesting duets (especially the one with her and Willie Nelson). I have always loved that "Baby, it's cold outside" song, perfect for Christmas! I do love that she mixed it up with some of the coolest hip hop artists out there. Though I don't think that it's Norah Jones' best, I liked the idea of her singing with some of the greatest artists. My favorite songs are #2 "Turn Them", #11 "Little Lou, Prophet Jack, and Ugly John, and #17 "More than This".

I give this album 4 stars out of 5.
